How is understanding how someone feels by their expression like finding where a puzzle piece goes? I'm not seeing the analogy. And speaking of analogies:

It doesn't quite work when two verbs are essentially the same thing. You either get rid of the second verb, or compare it to an action that isn't synonymous with the original. It's like saying 'he punches like a boxer hits'.

Also, the number doesn't agree, 'places' and 'face'. That's annoying. But at least he didn't force it to agree by making it 'our face'. That's the absolute worst!
